Christmas in Melbourne

I had quite a bizarre night in "Melbourne" when i was there in July, well i say bizarre it was quite good fun. I met this band in the hostel i was staying, and every month they are invited to play at a Christmas dinner hosted at one of the nearby clubs in St Kilda near to the hostel. So one night i was speaking to them and they needed someone to help them with some Christmas tunes so i stepped in and suddenly i found myself in the middle of July, well there winter, which kept some dignity to it i guess. playing "Fairytale of New York" "Step into Christmas". We did however get to jam out some other tunes. The guys wrote songs and so do i, so we both jammed each others, with great slide guitar work from big Pete. The band sound very much like "Dave Matthews bands" and the "Counting Crowes", two bands I'm very fond of.

IM BACK

hello I'm back from Aussie as you can tell. I had such a wonderful experience in meeting new friends which i truly believe we will be for life and meeting people from all over the world . "The World Youth Day" was such a peaceful, loving and caring event and it was just amazing. I do find it hard to talk about because there is so much i can say and its still quite hard to adjust. Its these kind of events which make you think there is still some happiness in the world and i really believe the youth need to be given some more credit for what they bring to the world. Because if this event is anything to go by we certainly bring our love of fun and our enjoyment of being in each others company. It was a privilege to be a pilgrim from Scotland and of course the world at "World Youth Day" in Sydney 2008. It was a lot of hard work getting over, from doing all the fundraising and all the organising, but doing all the paper work and all of the fundraising it was so worth it and it changed my life in so many ways in which you would not believe. I feel more connected in my faith now. I went there to find myself and i truly believe i did. I love Australia because its a wonderful country and its truly is at the ends of the earth. I would like to thank our youth team how did so so much in getting us over there, we owe them a lot of credit. Chris, Father David, Sr Bernadette, Stacy.
